March 29, 1949 – January 30, 2022
Hermitage- Janet Wallace Konig, of Hermitage, Tennessee, passed away on January 30, 2022. Born March 29th 1949 in Chicago, Illinois, Janet was preceded in death by her parents William Roscoe Wallace and Glenna Mary Huskey. Surviving are her beloved husband of 36 years, David Carroll Konig; her son, Robert Thomas Hall Jr. and daughter in law, Jennifer Lea Hall; her grandchildren, Landon Wallace Hall and Bennett Athey Hall; her sisters, Mary Carolyn Wallace Morgan and Jane Ellyn Branch.
Janet attended Georgia Baptist Hospital where she received her Nursing degree. She was a nurse for 42 years, caring for patients in Home Health Care. Even as a youth, she had a love for senior adults, working with them at her church. This translated into her nursing career, where she cared primarily for the elderly. Janet had a true nurse’s heart and genuine love for her patients, caring for them whenever in need, no matter what time of day or night. Towards the end of her career, she worked at the Vanderbilt Asthma, Sinus and Allergy Clinic, before retiring from nursing in 2012.
After retirement, Janet served at her church, Tulip Grove Baptist, working daily in the office and music ministry. She was very active in the church as a member of the choir, Unity Sunday School class, Room in the Inn ministry, and serving in the Children’s ministry. Janet loved the Lord and loved her church. When not at church, she enjoyed being a “Gigi” and spending time with her pride and joy, her grandsons.
Janet had a servant’s heart and spread love to all she came in contact with. Her joy of life and love for Christ left an impression everywhere she went. A wife; a mother; a GiGi; a sister; a daughter; an aunt; a friend to so many. She will truly be missed but will always be remembered and cherished in so many hearts.
