James Roy Carson, III age 66, died of complications due to esophageal cancer. He had an on going battle for 17 months, and he fought it with great courage. He entered Alive Hospice Madison Campus and remained there until his death on May 19, 2018. Throughout his ordeal his faith in Jesus Christ never faltered. Jimmy was born March 15,1952 in Nashville, TN. He attended Stokes Elementary and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1970. His passion was baseball and he excelled in both football and baseball at Hillsboro. He attended Cleveland State and Austin Peay State Universities on baseball scholarships. He was 1969-1970 All-NIL in both sports while at Hillsboro. He also loved ice hockey and spent many hours in the Municipal Auditorium playing junior league hockey and was the stick boy for the Dixie Flyers. He was a strong supporter of the Nashville Predators and Vanderbilt baseball. In his occupational field of tour merchandising, Jim was affectionately known as the "Mayor of the Road". He toured with artists as diverse as The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Prince, Genesis, Boston, Keith Urban, The Charlie Daniels Band, Scotty McCreery, David Lee Murphy and others. After 41 years and thousands of miles on the road he has left behind so many friends that have been so loving and kind throughout his illness. We appreciate and love all of you.He was preceded in death by father, James Roy Carson, Jr, mother, Katherine F. Carson, Grandmother, Miriam E Carson, Grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. William T. Ferguson, Aunts and Uncles: Grant and Jean Moses, Bob and Betty Burkhalter, James and Walter Ferguson. He is survived by beloved son, Baron L Daniels, mother of his son, Debbie Metcalf, and precious grandchildren Ellee Daniels and Michael Daniels all of Paducah, KY, and extended family: great granddaughters, Kinsley and Sophie. He is survived by brother John (Rachel) Carson of Murfreesboro, nephew, Zachary (Amy) Carson and two Great nephews, Jake and Sam Carson all of Georgia. Sister, Cathie (Steve) Breeding, niece, Patricia Breeding and nephew, Taylor Breeding of Nashville.
