Sammy Potts

Sammy Dale Potts, age 67, of Old Hickory, TN went to be with his Lord on March 20, 2018 after becoming critically ill. He was surrounded by his wife Heather, his son Brian, and his daughter-in-law Melissa at Summit Medical Center.Sammy was born on September 17, 1950 in Primm Springs, TN to Harlin and FannieMae (Tidwell) Potts. He was the youngest of 4 boys out of 9 total children. Sammy met his wife Heather (Armstrong) in Nashville, TN and they were married on April 21, 1972. They had one son Brian on July 1, 1980. Sammy was baptized on his birthday in 2006. He enjoyed gardening and fishing with his son. He also enjoyed spending time with his fur baby, Pixie, who he called his Angel Girl.Sammy is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Heather; son, Brian and his wife Melissa; brother, Donald Potts; sisters: Betty (Ted) Webber, Wanda Withrow, Juanita Potts Dalton, Ludie (Lloyd) Crafton as well as several nieces and nephews.Predeceased by his parents Harlin and FannieMae Potts; father-in-law, George Armstrong; brothers, Dorris Potts, Bedford Potts; sister Beatrice as well as his grandparents.In lieu of flowers the family would like to ask donations be made in his name to local church, charity or organization of your choice.
Memorial services will be held on April 7, 2018 at 11am. Service will be officiated by Pastor Jerry Williams at Green Hill Church, 13251 Lebanon Rd, Mt Juliet, TN 37122.+
