Louise Charlotte (Pedreyra) Millward12-9-1928 to 02-19-2019Hendersonville, Tennessee Louise, age 90, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family following a short illness. She was born in Denver, Colorado to Charlie Orson Pedreyra and Charlotte Ida Elsa (Wirsing) Pedreyra . She met her husband, Samuel C. Millward, Jr., at a YWCA dance and were married on September 26, 1948. They were married for 57 years prior to her husband's passing in 2004.After her husband retired from the United States Air Force in 1970, they settled in Citrus Heights, CA where Louise lived for forty-three (43) years until moving to Hendersonville, TN in 2014 to live with her daughter, Allison. Louise loved the theatre and was a long-time season ticket holder with the Sacramento Music Circus as well as the Tennessee Performing Arts Center after she moved to Tennessee. She enjoyed traveling and nickel slots, too. However, her real passion was pinochle. Soon after moving to Citrus Heights, she joined a group of ladies, affectionately known as the Powder Puff Grannies, who all loved to play pinochle. Louise played pinochle weekly with the group for over forty (40) years before relocating to Tennessee. She enjoyed playing all kinds of games, including gin, Phase 10, Rummikube, and Hand and Foot. She was affectionately referred to by many as a card shark.Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Orson Pedreyra and Charlotte Ida Elsa (Wirsing) Pedreyra, her brothers, Donald C. Pedreyra and Raymond P. Pedreyra, and her husband, Samuel C. Millward, Jr.. She is survived by her daughters Barbara A. Schultz and Allison (David) Leonard, her sisters Patricia Farkas and Margaret (Donald) Swaney, sister-in-law, Jenna (Brian) Corkill, brother-in-law, Geoffrey Millward, as well as three grandchildren, Kyle (Kristin) Leonard, Philipp (Makenzie) Schultz, and Alyssa (Joaquin) Bravo. She was loved by many and will be missed by family and friends around the country.To honor Louise's devotion to the Performing Arts, her family requests that memorial gifts be sent to either: Broadway Sacramento, 1510 J Street, Suite 200, Sacramento, CA 95814 OR Tennessee Performing Arts Center, PO Box 190660, Nashville, TN 37219A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
